A Collaborative, Global Initiative,
and an Invitation To Partners

1)  1st Annual International Conference on
   Transgenerational
Trauma: Communal Wounds and Victim Identities

       June 20-22, 2013 ~
 Amman, Jordan
         Previous '12 FULL Program

2)  Global Network for the Study of Transgenerational Trauma
A multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural professional network of permanent study groups representing professional associations, universities, and organizations world-wide, engaged in the study of inherited, unresolved communal trauma, and the implications for violence and war within and between communities. The Annual Conference on Transgenerational Trauma serves to establish this network and provide an annual meeting place for its members, as well as interested participants in general, to come together regularly for a focused 4 day conference, in-person opportunities to network for further collaboration, and on-site space for individual study groups to meet. See details on the Network and Guidelines for Study Groups

The Annual International Conference on Transgenerational Trauma, and the Global Network for the Study of Transgenerational Trauma it is intended to foster and support, is a long term undertaking to promote a concerted, expanding investigation of Transgenerational Trauma and effective, practical ways to address the need for healing and prevention. Our view is this project is of fundamentally shared relevance and immediate importance to the entire world community, and can benefit most from a diverse consortium of experienced, creative, and dedicated professional partners. The extent of this particular initiative and the very nature of the issue also demands that more than one cultural or disciplinary eye be represented at the operational, programmatic, and participation levels.

There are a number of individuals and organizations around the world who to various degrees are and have been exploring these dynamics. However there exists no central, multi-disciplinary nexus that allows this work to collect, build upon itself, and catalyze for the mutual benefit and availability to all. We believe that by working together in concert - by sharing research, insights, and knowledge, encouraging allied scholarly and practical investigation, and jointly developing effective cross-cultural models and methodologies for application, we can best and most expeditiously advance the understanding, healing, and prevention of these historical and perpetual elements of conflict and harm in our global relationships, and in doing so best advance a true and sustainable culture of peace and compassion, locally and globally.

Strategic partnership offers the benefits of shared expertise, skilled human resources, and financial resources necessary to developing the conceptual frame of this project, creating knowledge sharing vehicles and channels, designing and producing content - including training programs, publications, and actionable recommendations, and building a logistical structure for efficiently facilitating this collaborative process.

By nature, Common Bond Institute and the International Humanistic Psychology Association are fundamentally collaborative, and are in the process of forming such a consortium.
